Building products at the speed of AI

For 13 years, I’ve designed products across finance, public media, and law, after starting out in journalism. I’ve seen the discipline grow from screens and artifacts into systems, strategy, and product leadership. AI is pushing that evolution even further. Today, I use Claude Code to move fluidly between research, design, prototyping, and code. I’m not interested in using AI simply to design faster. I’m interested in what becomes possible when designers carry an idea all the way to production.

Design no longer just defines. We deliver.

And we’re just getting started.

Design, delivered.

Redefining Design’s role in product delivery.

As Digital Acceptance adopted Git-based planning and AI-assisted development, the existing operating model no longer reflected how teams were working. I established a cross-functional RACI and operating principles that clarified accountability and aligned Product, Design, and Engineering around a shared approach to delivery.

From designing the experience to shipping the code.

Three checkout improvements had remained in the engineering backlog for months. I implemented the changes directly in the product codebase and opened Visa Global Design’s first confirmed designer-authored pull request, demonstrating how designers can contribute to production code and help remove longstanding delivery bottlenecks.

Making a new way to pay feel familiar.

Integrating Tink’s Pay by Bank into Visa Unified Checkout meant introducing a new payment experience across six distinct European markets. I designed an experience grounded in familiar local banking conventions, helping customers recognize and trust a payment method they may not have used before.

Making design guidance work for people and AI agents.

As AI becomes part of product development, design guidance needs to work for both people and the tools they use. I rebuilt Visa’s Design Context platform around user intent, improved accessibility, and developed a production application that makes design knowledge available to designers and AI agents alike.

Rethinking the value of a 20-minute charging stop.

EV charging creates a window of time that traditional commerce experiences have largely overlooked. I developed an in-vehicle concept connecting charging stops with relevant nearby offers, exploring a new opportunity for charging providers to differentiate their services and create value for drivers.

Rebuilding an enterprise suite without breaking it.

Cybersource had been built by a lot of teams over a lot of years, and almost none of it with a keyboard or a screen reader in mind. I led the design side of the remediation to WCAG 2.1 AA across the suite, without changing the workflows businesses already relied on.

How I lead

What shaped me
shapes how I lead.

I came to design from journalism, then worked as a designer in law, public media, and fintech, with two years running my own agency in between. Those experiences taught me to ask better questions, build a compelling argument, and hold a room. Today, I draw on those same skills to connect people and ideas across disciplines, shape product direction, and turn complex problems into products that work. These are the principles that guide how I lead.

01

I earn trust through consistency.

I say what I mean, communicate clearly, and follow through on my commitments. When something changes or I get it wrong, I take responsibility. I believe credibility is built over time, through both the big decisions and the small moments. I want the people I work with to know where I stand and that they can count on me, especially when the stakes are high.

02

I love a good riddle.

I’m drawn to problems that don’t come with a clear answer. I like asking hard questions, challenging assumptions, and finding connections others might miss. Often, the real challenge is figuring out which problem is worth solving in the first place. I enjoy bringing different perspectives together, finding a way forward, and turning a promising idea into something real.

03

I stay curious enough to change.

I ask questions before making assumptions and seek out perspectives that challenge my own. I approach problems with an open mind, but I’m not afraid to have a strong point of view. I welcome feedback, question my own thinking, and change course when there’s a better path forward. I’m more interested in making the right decision than being the person who was right.

04

I bring people together to make better decisions.

The best product decisions rarely belong to a single function. I build relationships across design, product, engineering, and business to understand different priorities, challenge assumptions, and find a way forward. I listen closely, speak candidly, and don’t shy away from difficult conversations. I believe the strongest partnerships are built on mutual respect and a shared commitment to doing great work.
